DESCRIPTION:Registration closes: 6 September 2024 \n\n\n\nNumber of participants: Min 10 / Max 24 \n\n\n\nLocation: Katherine  \n\n\n\nThe internationally recognised one-day MIMMS Team Provider course provides participants with a structured approach to respond to a scene of a major incident\, with the focus on the role of the team member. \n\n\n\nThe course content is designed around seven key principles (CSCATTT) and comprises of online pre-course modular components\, structured lectures\, skill stations\, workshops and novel interactive tabletop exercises. There is also a simulation triage exercise involving mass casualties. \n\n\n\nA manual and materials are supplied as part of this course. \n\n\n\nCourse Objectives include: \n\n\n\n\nUnderstanding the organisations\, structures and roles in managing major incidents and how they work together.\n\n\n\nPrepare for and implement a structured approach when responding to major incidents (CSCATTT) with a particular focus on the medical support components as a team member.\n\n\n\n\nSuitable Participants: \n\n\n\nOpen to all medical practitioners\, nurses\, paramedics\, ambulance officers\, defence health personnel\, NT Fire Service and emergency first responders. \n\n\n\nCourse Cost: \n\n\n\nNorthern Territory Government (including ADF & emergency personnel): $100[pp incl. GST] \n\n\n\nNon-Northern Territory Government: $200[pp incl. DESCRIPTION:Descriptions for NCCTRC Website – Nov 2023 \n\n\n\nHospital Major Incident Medical Management and Support (HMIMMS) Team Provider \n\n\n\nRegistration closes: 6 September 2024 \n\n\n\nNumber of participants: Min 10 / Max 24 \n\n\n\nLocation: Katherine \n\n\n\nWhilst traditional MIMMS teaches a structured approach to responding to a mass casualty at the incident site\, Hospital MIMMS (HMIMMS) is aimed at hospital staff involved in the major incident team within the hospital. \n\n\n\nThis 1 day course explores the priorities and responsibilities of hospital clinical and administrative responders facing a mass casualty incident. An all-hazard approach is adopted and the concept of the scaleable hierarchy is introduced as a fundamental concept in the hospital based response. \n\n\n\nThe course comprises of lectures\, workshops and a novel interactive table top exercise\, to simulate the challenges facing responders during the phases of reception\, definitive care and recovery. \n\n\n\nCourse objectives include: \n\n\n\n\nType and incidence of major incidents and the need for an effective response and management planning.\n\n\n\nUnderstand and able to implement and follow the seven principles encapsulated in the CSCATTT approach to successfully managing a major incident.\n\n\n\nUnderstand the need for major incident training\, focusing on those aspects of the plan which do not occur in day-to-day practice\, i.e.\, command\, control\, communication and mass casualty triage.\n\n\n\nAble to deliver the medical support needed for major incidents in the hospital setting using the concept of collapsible hierarchies.\n\n\n\n\nSuitable Participants:  \n\n\n\nThis course is aimed at both clinical and non-clinical personnel who would be involved in managing a major incident in the hospital. \n\n\n\nCourse Cost: \n\n\n\nNorthern Territory Government (plus ADF & emergency personnel): $100 [pp incl. GST] \n\n\n\nNon-Northern Territory Government : $200[pp incl.
