An all-hazard approach is adopted while special incidents such as burns and chemical hazards are also discussed. The concept of the scaleable hierarchy is introduced as a fundamental concept in the hospital based response. \n\n\n\nThe course comprises of online pre-course modular components\, lectures\, workshops and novel interactive table top exercises\, simulating the challenges facing responders during the phases of reception\, definitive care and recovery. \n\n\n\nCourse objectives include: \n\n\n\n\nType and incidence of major incidents and the need for an effective response and management planning.\n\n\n\nUnderstand and able to implement and follow the seven principles encapsulated in the CSCATTT approach to successfully managing a major incident.\n\n\n\nUnderstand the need for major incident training\, focusing on those aspects of the plan which do not occur in day-to-day practice\, i.e.\, command\, control\, communication and mass casualty triage.\n\n\n\nAble to deliver the medical support needed for major incidents in the hospital setting using the concept of collapsible hierarchies.\n\n\n\n\nSuitable Participants:  \n\n\n\nThis course is aimed at both clinical and non-clinical personnel who would be involved in managing a major incident in the hospital. \n\n\n\nCourse Cost: \n\n\n\nNorthern Territory Government staff (plus Defence and Emergency services): $350 [pp incl. DESCRIPTION:Course Closed for Registrations.\n\n\n\nRegistration closes: 3 Oct 23\n\n\n\nNumber of participants: Min 12 / Max 24\n\n\n\nThis two day\, Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) accredited course\, aims to teach theory & practical skills to effectively manage cardiopulmonary arrests\, peri-assist situations & special circumstances\, whilst following the latest ARC guidelines. \n\n\n\nCourse content includes: \n\n\n\n\nRecognition\, assessment & management of life threatening arrhythmias\n\n\n\nDefibrillation\n\n\n\nBasic & advanced airway management including Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA) insertion\n\n\n\nLegal & ethical issues in resuscitation\n\n\n\n\nPre-requisite: \n\n\n\nCurrent Basic Life Support competent (evidence to be provided). \n\n\n\nOn succssful completion\, the participant receives a certificate valid for 4 years however it is an ARC recommendation that skills are updated at least annually. \n\n\n\nSuitable Participants: \n\n\n\nHealth professionals working within emergency departments\, intensive care\, high dependency\, coronary care\, operating theatres and retrieval\, and is required to lead a resuscitation team. This means the original ARC ALS2 provider course you attended was on 1 March 2019 or beyond. DESCRIPTION:Registration closes: 9 Sep 22\n\n\n\nNumber of participants: Min 12 / Max 18 \n\n\n\nThis is a 1-day Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) Advanced Life Support (ALS) course for registered health professionals requiring reaccreditation for ALS Level 2 and who hold a current ARC ALS 2 Certificate. \n\n\n\nNumber of positions: 18 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPre-Requisite \n\n\n\nApplicants are required to forward a copy of their current ARC ALS 2 card or a copy of their certificate to Admin.NCCTRC@ nt.gov.au at the time of registration.   \n\n\n\nReceipt of certificate or ARC card copies is mandatory for a position in this course.  \n\n\n\nParticipants whose ALS 2 provider status has expired will be required to complete the 2 day ALS 2 course. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCourse Cost: \n\n\n\nNorthern Territory Government Staff Members: $240.00 (pp. incl. SUMMARY:Hospital MIMMS Course (HMIMMS)
DESCRIPTION:Registration closes: 21 Sep 22\n\n\n\nNumber of participants: Min 12 / Max 18 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWhile traditional MIMMS teaches a structured approach to responding at the scene of mass casualty incidents\, Hospital MIMMS (HMIMMS) focusses on the delivery of care in the hospital environment. \n\n\n\nThis 2 day course explores the priorities and responsibilities of clinical and administrative responders facing a mass casualty incident in their hospital. An all-hazards approach is adopted while special incidents such as burns and chemical hazards are also covered. The concept of the collapsible hierarchy is introduced as a fundamental concept in the hospital based response. \n\n\n\nThe format includes; \n\n\n\n• Lectures \n\n\n\n• Small group workshops \n\n\n\n• Novel interactive tabletop sessions which simulate the challenges facing responders during the phases of patient reception\, definitive care and recovery. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSuitable Participants:  \n\n\n\nThis course is aimed at personnel who would be involved in managing a major incident in the hospital. This can be clinical or non-clinical. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCourse Cost: \n\n\n\nNorthern Territory Government staff members: $350.00 [pp incl. DESCRIPTION:Registration closes: 21 Jul 22\n\n\n\nNumber of participants: Min 12 / Max 18 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis two day\, Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) accredited course\, aims to teach theory & practical skills to effectively manage cardiopulmonary arrests\, peri-assist situations & special circumstances\, whilst following the latest ARC guidelines. \n\n\n\nCourse content includes: \n\n\n\nRecognition\, assessment & management of life threatening arrhythmiasDefibrillationBasic & advanced airway management including Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA) insertionLegal & ethical issues in resuscitation\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPre-requisite: \n\n\n\nCurrent Basic Life Support competent (evidence to be provided). \n\n\n\nOn succssful completion\, the participant receives a certificate valid for 4 years however it is an ARC recommendation that skills are updated at least annually. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSuitable Participants: \n\n\n\nHealth professionals working within emergency departments\, intensive care\, high dependency\, coronary care\, operating theatres and retrieval\, and is required to lead a resuscitation team. It is also suitable for nurses working in small rural and remote emergency facilities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistrations \n\n\n\nAll registrations are online directly with College of Emergency Nursing Australasia (CENA) \n\n\n\nRegister Here \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*NCCTRC will sponsor Northern Territory Government Department Health staff members working in the Northern Territory 50% of the TNP course cost.
