2020 – Wuhan Evacuations – China – COVID-19

In February, the Australian Government authorised two evacuation flights from the epicentre of the COVID19 outbreak. Australian citizens were flown to quarantine facilities on Christmas Island and Howard Springs near Darwin for 14 days of isolation before continuing home to Australian cities. AUSMAT personnel ran the facilities as well as having teams on the flights to monitor passengers.
