2019 – Solomon Islands – Oil Spill

On 5 February, a bulk carrier with 700 tonnes of heavy fuel aboard ran aground in Solomon Islands' and Bellona Province. Australia deployed Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA) experts to Honiara to undertake an operational assessment of the site. AUSMAT doctors assisted AMSA personal.
