Clinical Nurse Midwife Coordinator, Acting Manager Strategic Events and Deployable Biomedical Cache Coordinator

Melissa Taylor is a Registered Nurse and Midwife specialising in labour and birth care. She has held leadership roles in the public health system across Australia, contributing to the delivery of high-quality maternal and emergency healthcare services. Since 2014, Melissa has served as a Nurse Midwife with the Australian Medical Assistance Team (AUSMAT) deploying internationally to support responses to the measles epidemic, the COVID-19 pandemic and major earthquake emergencies. Melissa is currently the Acting Manager Strategic Events and Deployable Biomedical Cache Coordinator with the National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre. She leads operational planning, coordination and deployment readiness for major events and national and international medical response capabilities. Passionate about maternal and child health care and event medicine, Melissa is dedicated to improving healthcare outcomes through clinical excellence, preparedness and compassionate leadership in challenging environments.
