2020 – Victoria – COVID-19

The National Health Emergency Management Subcommittee (NHEMS) requested AUSMAT assistance to support the Victorian Government with Residential Aged Care facilities following a COVID-19 Outbreak. Working closely with defence personnel, rapid response teams focused on training and mentoring aged care staff in personal protection equipment, separation of patients, hot zones, waste management and continuation of support as facilities transitioned to recovery. Teams were deployed from late July through to September.
