
Public Health Operations in Emergencies for National Strengthening in the Indo-Pacific (PHOENIX)
The National Critical Care and Trauma Response Centre (NCCTRC) has been engaged by the Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade to strengthen pandemic preparedness and outbreak response systems and capacity in the Indo-Pacific through the PHOENIX program.
The PHOENIX project proposes engagement with twenty-two countries across the Indo-Pacific.
South-East Asia
Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Philippines, Timor-Leste, Thailand, Vietnam.
Pacific
Federated States of Micronesia, Fiji, Kiribati, Nauru, Niue, Palau, Papua New Guinea, Republic of Marshall Islands, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Tuvalu and Vanuatu.

Countries in the Indo-Pacific deliver better health outcomes for all
Objective:
Strengthened public health emergency response systems and capacity in the Indo-Pacific
End of program outcomes
National health workforces have enhanced capacity to respond to public health emergencies
National public health emergency systems have strengthened coordination and integration
Regional networks and communities of practice are strengthened to enhance public health emergency responses
National health workforces have enhanced ability to address outcomes for women, people with a disability and people from marginalised groups during public health emergency responses
