Dr Anthea Katelaris is an AUSMAT member since 2022 and a public health physician at the South Eastern Sydney Local Health District. She works across all aspects of health protection and has expertise in communicable disease control, outbreak investigation and surveillance. She has previously worked in the New South Wales Ministry of Health, including as a Deputy Controller in the COVID-19 response across other public health units, and in Papua New Guinea as part of the World Health Organization's COVID-19 Incident Management Team. Dr Katelaris trained through the Australasian Faculty of Public Health Medicine and at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine and completed field epidemiology training through the Australian National University's Masters of Applied Epidemiology program.
