GOARN Outbreak Response Training – regional course

June 2025 Australia

22 public health professionals from 12 countries across the Pacific and Southeast Asia spent five days in simulations and workshops designed to sharpen decision-making, strengthen coordination and build regional readiness for future health emergencies.

Delivered through the Public Health Operations in Emergencies for National Strengthening in the Indo-Pacific (PHOENIX) program, the Global Outbreak Alert and Response Network (GOARN) Outbreak Response regional training uses scenario-based simulations to develop the skills needed for real-time decision-making in complex health emergencies, in partnership with the World Health Organization Western Pacific Regional Office (WPRO).
